Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair

Todays post is about the hair care brand, Paul Mitchell who I contacted to see if a collaboration would be of their interest and they very kindly allowed to me to pick anything from the webiste to review for them.

I have heard about Paul Mitchell but I've never personally tried any of the products but I know my mum is a fan of the 'Smoothing' range so I had high hopes for the brand.

Paul Mitchell (co-founder) is a hair professional that started back in the 80's along with Angus Mitchell (co-owner, hair stylist and son of Paul) & John Paul DeJoria (chairman of the board & co-founder.) The first launch of hair care products which is still highly popular today was 'The Originals' and they were the first beauty professionals to stand against animal testing.

Since the start Paul Mitchell has released tons of new products to suit so many different hair types from coloured hair to curly locks and even a kids range. Something to suit everyone. There is now a limited edition line aswell, 'United in Pink' which supports breast and ovarian cancer in women, this is something very close to my heart with my mum being in remission from breast cancer. A wonderful cause to get involved in.

Of course I had to opt for something from the 'Blonde' range since I am forever getting my hair bleached and I need some serious TLC to keep my hair in healthy condition. I decided to get the Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair which is to be used on damp hair before styling.

First thing I would say is postage was SO quick! I think it was just over a day since I was in contact with the team before I received this in the mail so huge thanks for the great customer service!

The bottle is 150ml, a huge size and will last me ages but the packaging is what stood out to me the most. I love the sleek design of the bottle with the shiny silver to make it look even more high end! It's simple but really expensive looking. The 150ml bottle retails for £16.25 on Look Fantastic but I have noticed prices do vary on different sites.

The product is in a spray bottle which you just spray onto the hair before drying but I have to say I am not a fan of the way it sprays. I was hoping for a soft spritz that easily coats the strands of my hair but it comes out way too harsh and ends up hitting small areas of my hair which means I had to use more to get a even application. Now I spray directly into my hands and apply to my hair that way, I find this works much better.

Other than that minor down point, I have to say I am obsessed with this product! It is pretty much a miracle in a bottle if you ask me and it smells nice too, always a bonus.

It almost feels like a serum but it is so lightweight, almost feels like I am applying water to my hair. The product has KerActive protein, Safflower oleosomes and macadamia nut oil which all help to protect, tame frizz and moisturise damaged and weakened hair. Music to my ears!!

Typically I have very frizzy and dry hair, once I blow dry I end up looking like Hagrid from Harry Potter and that is never a good look! I struggle to find products that help control my hair but if you read my blog you will know I love using the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil & Umberto Giannini Miracle Worker Argan Oil. These 2 seem to do a good job of help maintaining my frizz and making my hair smooth but still is always left looking big and cher like.

Since using the spray I have noticed a HUGE difference in my hair. Not only does it make my hair pretty much straight after blow drying but it also keeps it looking sleek days after which never happens. I've noticed a big reduction in the tangles I am prone to and I can even get away with not brushing my hair, sounds gross I know but it's great for a lazy girl like me haha.

I am so shocked at how well this reacts with my hair, I would compare this to Olaplex except this isn't a treatment, just by how it works with my hair and the results. I've never known what it is like to have hydrated and smooth hair on a daily basis from the amount I have had my hair coloured over the years. I use this everytime I wash my hair, usually 2 or 3 times a week and I will 100% be purchasing again and again.

If you have coloured hair that is damaged and tired, not just blonde! Then I would highly recommend giving this line a look. I am looking into purchasing the rest of the Blonde range aswell for optimum results, well worth the price tag in my eyes.

Don't forget to check out the Paul Mitchell website for the full range of products on offer.

Huge thanks to Paul Mitchell for sending me this to try!
