Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Face Oil Review

Dr Botanicals is a British brand that offers a huge range of skincare products which are on the higher end side and are all vegan & cruelty free. I believe you get what you paid for so I was expecting great things from their products. Not only are they vegan and cruelty free which is great, they are also a 100% natural brand and free from parabens.

The team at Dr Botanicals emailed me and asked me if I'd like to work with them to give an honest review of their products and were very kind to send me their superfood face oil from the new Moroccan Rose range.

I am very pleased to receive a facial oil from them, I am always on the hunt for that perfect oil.

The Moroccan Rose range is infused with lots of minerals and vitamins. There is 3 active ingredients to help maintain the skins hydration and protection..

  • Vitamin C to stimulate collagen production
  • Vitamin A to rejuvenate, tone and even skin tone
  • Almond Oil to moisturise and nourish

I have to say, when I first opened this I wasn't expecting such a strong scent but I love the way this oil smells! It is more like a perfume and it reminds me of something from when I was younger but can't put my finger on what it is. Although it is quite strong I don't find it overpowering or uncomfortable in the slightest.

The oil itself isn't like a proper oil in consistancy that you'd expect, it's kinda like a serum once applied to the skin. It feels slightly tacky when it's drying into the skin but once it's fully dried down it leaves my skin feeling smooth and plump.

The oil has a pippet applicator which I love, makes application so much easier and deposits product easily with no spillage. I love the packaging being a glass 30ml bottle rather than plastic, makes it feel more expensive and by no means is this product a cheap one retailing at £66.72.

In my opinion I find this sits so well under makeup and acts as a great primer aswell. I have used this with just moisturser with no primer and also on top of primer and both are fab methods for me. My foundation really sticks to the oil and makes it last so much longer with it giving me all the goodness my skin needs, I think this is down to the tackyness it leaves on the skin if I apply my base products quickly before the oil fully drys down.

My skin feels and looks much more radiant and healthy since using the oil day and night and you can really notice that my fine lines appear more refined too. I have a few dry patches on my face and they seem to be less rough and sore.

I have combination/oily skin and this Moroccan Rose range is very hydrating so I was abit worried that this wouldn't work for me and make my skin go crazy but that wasn't the case at all. It suits my skin fine so I would say this is great for all skin types but of course if you have dry skin I can imagine this working wonders for you.

I know this is a very pricey oil to splash out on but for me I think it is worth every penny, I will deffo be trying out some more of their products when I get the chance.

Dr Botanicals sell cleansers, moisturisers, oils/serums, eye/lip care and bath/body products for different skin concerns so there is plenty to choose from. If you are in the market for some luxury skincare then I would direct you towards Dr Botanicals for sure.
